Feb 20, 2018· Thanks, will have a look, this site has fascinating ideas but I have nowhere near the skills to build anything from an idea. I have a drill press, angle grinder and DC welder to try and do this, and my welding sucks. Another big obstacle is I don't have scrap, will need to buy the steel in anything from 2m to 6m lengths.

Jun 02, 2012· I have an old Craftsman bench grinder and she seems to have given up the ghost. My father gave it to me, so I'd like to see it turn again. Its stamed Nov. 28 1968 on the baseplate and according to the faceplate it is a 1/3 horse motor that draws 3.5 amps at 115 volts. The wheels turn freely by hand, but under power it locks up and hums.
Hi everyone, my 2ltr tabletop premier wonder grinder has finally got to the stage where the belt is 'shedding' and creating black dust within the machine. I am looking to change the belt and saw in a few discussions about getting a powertwist belt, but i am not sure which one i would need, the only info on the belt i currently have is 'Ecodrive FHP 2190', so am unsure what that refers to as...

So how do I sharpen my tungsten? I often just use a bench grinder along with a cordless drill motor. Sometimes I use a belt sander... I also like to use a 120 grit sanding disc on a 4 1/2" grinder along with a cordless drill motor. For most folks, a cheap bench grinder with a 100 -180 grit stone will be fine. Not optimum, but fine.
Mar 24, 2017· That being said, you have to do it according to your current skill and comfort level. Generally I will go to 400 or 600 on the grinder, making the knife as close to finish as I can get it, in order the minimize having to remove material by hand.
Apr 11, 2013· I want to fit a Multitool linisher attachment to one side of my GMF 3/4HP 3Ph pedestal grinder. I'm not sure which size I should get. The 100mm wide belt seems a bit of an overkill, but I'm wondering if the extra length of the 50x1220 is worth the extra $120. Also appreciate advice on most appropriate belt grit for general use on metal.
The basics are an old miniature bench grinder an old buggy motor (originally brought for an experiment in electric flight) a pulley, drive belt and a board to mount it all on. Whilst I happened to have all this and the other sundry items needed laying around doing nothing it doesn't count as free as it all had to be brought at some point.
Dec 03, 2016· If I find that it doesn't last more than a reasonable amount, I'll probably make some kind of "bellows" out of some heat shrink or rubber tubing. That said, if I was building a grinder that simply needed 30 or 40 lbs of straight up and down compression, I'd probably opt for a regular spring for simplicity and longevity sake.
